'petal to the metal' bags

MARC by Marc Jacobs petal to the metal collection is making my heart flutter. i love birds, i always have and always will so when i was shopping the other week with a friend this little brass bird caught my eye and now i am obsessed! the only thing holding me back is that fat price tag that comes with it.
...... maybe Santa will place it under the tree for me ; )

container guest house

this fab container guest house is just one of Poteet Architects uses of sustainable design. founder Jim Poteet's San Antonio firm is best known for their adaptive reuse of existing buildings and a fresh approach to modern design. i am so looking forward to the day that i can have my own little guest house with a green roof, composting toilet and reclaimed materials.

Evolution ~ people and the fish they look like

photographer Ted Sabarese came up with an interesting photo series where he matches folks with their fish doppelganger. i know it's suppose to provoke a deeper thought about evolution but it just makes me smile.

ixxi is an artful modular connecting system, where you can take any image(or use one of theirs) and make a modern wall mural or a fantastic hanging room divider. make it a large image, or a photo collage or even a pixel image... really the possibilities are endless.

Gulf Island Cabin ~ Olson Kundig

wood, metal, concrete & glass = the perfect little cabin in the woods.

"Set on an island north of the San Juans, the exterior metal skin of this single room cabin will be allowed to weather naturally. Inside, wood-finished surfaces create a cozy refuge. A large, weathered steel panel slides across a window wall, securing the space when the owner is away."
